State pre-school nurseries are mostly situated within primary school grounds. Provide
part-time places, 5 morning or afternoon session a week between 9am - 3pm,free for 3
- 5 year olds. Some may allow extra hours to be purchased, if available, a few offer wrap around care .Most run term
times and a few have holiday clubs.
There are no catchment area restrictions
for nursery schools and classes. Ideally you should put your child's name on a waiting list at
the nursery of your choice as soon as he/she is two years old.
