Nunnykirk School is a non-maintained special school approved by the Department for Education for pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. For over 30 years (established in 1977) we have provided for the educational and social needs of boys and girls of average or above average intelligence who experience specific learning difficulties including dyslexia.

We offer a wide ranging curriculum which caters specifically for children with dyslexia using teaching methods which have proved very successful particularly in key subjects such as Literacy and Maths. The school has also grown an excellent reputation for the quality of its creative arts achievements, in particular photography, which a number of former pupils have pursued as successful careers.
Nunnykirk School is very happy to offer a taster day for any child whose parents are considering sending them to the school.
