Child-friendly Waldorf architecture

Edinburgh Steiner School converted coach house creates new learning spaces.

Pupils are profoundly affected by their build environment. Having converted a C-listed coach house into curriculum space in 2019, which won an 'Honourable Mention in Architectural Design' in the Educational Buildings category by international Architecture MasterPrize™ (AMP) – celebrating creativity and innovation in the field of architecture, Edinburgh Steiner School broke ground renovating its adjoining West Coach House over the summer months.

Excellence flourishes in inspirational spaces to learn in. Situated in a protected conservation area of Merchiston, conserving the pair of 19th Century outbuildings at a cost of £487k adds several full-sized classrooms to its campus, facilitating school numbers to grow.
