Children in Form 6 (Primary 5) at The Compass School have raised over £1000 for Leuchie House!
They achieved this incredible sum by taking on the challenge of running 2.6 km or 2.6 miles for charity on Sunday 26 April, in place of the postponed London Marathon. The children, supported by their families, were delighted to be able to raise funds for Leuchie House and all the wonderful work its staff do in providing caring respite breaks for people and their families living with long term conditions. Leuchie House is currently supporting the NHS in the fight against the Covid-19 virus.
Headteacher, Mr Mark Becher, said: “I am very proud of the children for taking on this initiative and raising funds for this important cause; Leuchie House being one of the charities which the School supports on annual basis. I too put on my running shoes on the day to show support for them, although I was happy that I was not running against them as I am sure they would have left me far behind! Well done to them all!”
Having now broken the £1000 mark, the children’s fund-raising continues for a few days yet and if anyone wishes to support them further, can do so at: http://www.justgiving.com/team/Form6for2-6?invite=true
