An interview with Rhea Balfour, the founding director
What led you to establish your company?
I spent nearly 20 years in the property industry, latterly as senior surveyor. While conducting surveys and valuations, I came across many buildings in a state of disrepair. There was clearly a need for a private property management and concierge service in Edinburgh.
To whom are your services geared?
Busy professionals with a second home in Edinburgh; families who need local management for their properties; sellers and overseas property owners who are looking to establish themselves in the Scottish property market.

Property Maintenance
Our services are always tailored to an individual’s situation to meet their needs. The main service areas are:
Initial survey and recommendations
Managing ongoing building repairs
Boiler maintenance
Gas and electricity checks
Liaising with factors and tradesmen

Project Management
After an initial consultation with the client, we can work directly with their Architects for large projects which we oversee from start to finish. We use our own referred building teams to carry out any project and are visible on the project throughout, thus acting as a perfect bridge between client and architect/builder to minimise stress. We are a fully serviced company with 40 years of experience in property from management through to building works. Projects can involve anything from interior design to organising and overseeing a new bathroom or extension.
We specialise in reconfiguring living space to make it more adapted to home working. For rental properties, we can provide imaginative renovations to ensure maximum return on investments.
Do you only cover Edinburgh and the Lothians?
No. We have built up an extensive network of contacts across mainland Scotland. But in a portfolio, one property will usually be in Edinburgh.
How much do you charge for your services?
It depends on the package. There are no upfront costs, but prices start at £400/month and are calculated to absorb ongoing bills. We’ll work within a client’s budget to create the best possible experience for them.
