Two Heads Are Better Than One

The Nursery and School Guide's Podcast Recommendation:

Many Edinburgh parents will know retired head teacher Rod Grant from Clifton Hall School, and, a few years ago, Cameron Wyllie, who retired as Head from Heriot's School. They have put their two heads together and started a podcast. I have a lot of respect for both of these heads because historically, they have not been afraid to have opinions and share them. Whether you agree or disagree with those opinions, it's never in doubt that these two professionals are passionate about Scottish Education and pupil welfare.

About the Podcast

Two Heads Are Better Than One is a Scottish education podcast hosted by Rod Grant and Cameron Wyllie, two experienced educators and school leaders with decades of experience across teaching, leadership, and policy. Each episode tackles the real issues facing Scottish education today — from classroom discipline and leadership challenges to pedagogy, wellbeing, and educational reform.

Known for its mix of insight, humour, and honesty, the podcast gives voice to teachers, parents, and leaders navigating the evolving landscape of Scottish schools. With a focus on open dialogue, professional reflection, and practical solutions, Two Heads Are Better Than One aims to bring balance and realism back to the education debate — proving, as its title suggests, that collaboration and conversation can lead to better thinking and better schools.
