Sforzando Strings session open to players from Grade 3 to Grade 6
Sforzando Strings is a termly programme at St Mary's Music School that brings string players together, offering young musicians from beginner to Grade 6 the opportunity to play in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.
During each session, expert tutors guide the young musicians through sectional rehearsals before bringing everyone together to form a full string orchestra. Each day concludes with a short sharing performance, allowing players to showcase what they have worked on throughout the session.
The programme welcomes violin, viola, cello and double bass players of all abilities.
Upcoming Session
The next Sforzando Strings session is open to players from Grade 3 to Grade 6.
Players should:
- Be able to play comfortably in most keys
- Be comfortable with some position changing
- Be ready to enjoy playing as part of a group
Music parts will be supplied prior to the event.

Registration: 1:30pm
Sharing Concert: 5:00pm – 5:30pm
Cost: £25 per child
Registration closing date: 9th November
