Upcoming Family Ceilidhs
Are you ready for some fun? Join us for our upcoming family ceilidhs! These events are perfect for families with children aged 3-9 years, but everyone is welcome. We simplify the dances to ensure they are non-scary and enjoyable for all.
November Family Ceilidhs
St Andrew’s Day Family Ceilidhs
Date: Sunday 30th November 2025
Time: Choose from 10-11am, 11.15-12.15, or 12.30-1.30pm
Location: The Counting House Ballroom, 34 West Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DD (where we dance during the Fringe)
Join us for a celebration! This ceilidh is aimed at families with children aged 3-9 years, but all are welcome. Feel free to wear tartan if you like!

Don’t forget your refreshments! A donation of £5 per family is appreciated if you can manage it.
January Family Ceilidhs
New Year School Age Family Ceilidhs
Date: Sunday 4th January 2026
Time: 2-4pm
Location: Corstorphine Old Parish Church, 2a Corstorphine High St, Edinburgh EH12 7ST
Unlike most of our events, this one is aimed at families with schoolage children. Dances will be danced as at regular ceilidhs so you may have to hold hands with people you don’t know. Please bring your leftover Christmas nibbles to share in the interval!

Burns' Family Ceilidhs
Date: Sunday 25th January 2026
Time: A choice of 2-3pm or 3.15-4.15pm
Location: Corstorphine Old Parish Church, 2a Corstorphine High St, Edinburgh EH12 7ST
Aimed at families with children aged 3-9 years, but everyone is welcome - the dances will be simplified and non-scary. Wear tartan if you wish!

About CeilidhKids Sessions
CeilidhKids sessions are lively family events where everyone can dance, clap, and march together! Children learn rhythm, movement, confidence, and social skills while adults help guide the little ones.
We dance to recordings of top bands or sometimes to an accordion player. The focus is on fun and staying within your child’s comfort zone. Your child doesn’t even have to let go of your hand if they don’t want to!
Who Can Join?
All ages are welcome! Our sessions are designed for families with children aged 3 and up, as they tend to get the most out of it. However, if you have younger ones, we’d love to have you! Even if your little one needs to be carried, they are welcome to join in the fun.
Dress Code
Dress is casual! T-shirts, fancy dress, kilts, party dresses, and tracksuits are all popular choices. Soft shoes are a good idea—plimsolls work well, and ballet shoes are even better!
