Many independent schools organise 'Assessment Days' in January. Schools invite children applying for P1 (and other year groups) to an informal play session which includes an assessment. Pupils who are applying for S1 entry to invited to sit an entrance test.
See the links below for details. Some schools have a strict prior application deadline - others will still take children for an assessment with just a few days notice to its worth phoning to find out if you want your child to sit the assessment test.

St Georges School
P1 - 13th January 2023. This is a play session where staff observe the children in a play situation. Please contact admissions for more information.
S1 - 20th & 24th January 2023. The assessment includes papers in Mathematics, English and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
