Assessment season is here!

Over the coming weeks, we look forward to welcoming new families for ESMS Junior School, The Mary Erskine School and Stewart’s Melville College at our annual assessments. We know it’s a big step at whatever age you join us, but our wonderful teachers and staff will be there on the day to give you a warm welcome and explain what happens next. 

What to expect at the Primary 1 Assessment

For our Primary 1s, there's no formal assessment and it's all about having fun, as explained by our Junior School Senior Deputy Head (Early Education), Mrs Lydon.

Key Assessment Dates

🏫 Our Junior School assessments are on-going from November 2025.

📅 S1 Assessment Day is on Thursday 8 January 2026 , applications are due by Monday 8 December 2025.

📔 Applications for S2 and up are accepted throughout the year.

At Erskine Stewart Melville, our assessment days are friendly, engaging and fun.

Applications for our Nursery are accepted year-round.
