With over 130 years of leading the way in education, St George’s respects its pioneering tradition whilst making sure their students leave ready to step into a fast-paced world as leaders. Their unique Signature Curriculum offers personalised pathways and varied co-curricular programmes that cultivate strong research skills and a love of learning. St George’s ‘Best of British’ system combines GCSEs with Higher and Advanced Highers and has produced exceptionally high results year on year. In 2026, 65% of Advanced Higher grades were an A, and a third of Higher students achieved A’s in every subject. But that’s only part of the picture. A fundamental belief of St George’s is not to funnel every girl down the same route; it’s to make sure she leaves confident enough to choose the right one for her, whatever that looks like.
Nearly a quarter of leavers are heading into STEM subjects, from medicine to aeronautical engineering to computing science, fields where women remain under-represented nationally, and where our girls are choosing to lead rather than follow. Others are pursuing law, economics, fine art, architecture and the creative industries. Some are choosing something other than the traditional three-year degree altogether: gap years, degree apprenticeships, and specialist creative pathways.
Single sex education doesn’t shelter girls, it prepares them. The “confidence gap” is eliminated in single-sex environments, with girls developing confidence and leadership skills at approximately the same rate as their male peers. At St George’s, confidence in girl is not left to slip away. It’s embraced and it’s strengthened.
