St Leonards School is proud to announce its exceptional victory at the 2025 Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) National Championships, securing the national title and affirming its reputation as one of the UK’s most prestigious school golf programmes.
The championships, held this year at Slaley Hall in Hexham, saw fierce competition from top independent golfing schools across the UK. The St Leonards team, composed of captain Finlay H, Martin S, and Johann M, displayed exceptional talent, composure, and teamwork to clinch the prestigious title.
Director of Golf at St Leonards, Fintan Bonner, praised the team’s performance: “I’m incredibly proud of what our pupils have achieved. To win the ISGA National Championships is a remarkable feat on its own, but to do so while balancing academic commitments, social lives, and a demanding travel schedule across Europe makes it even more impressive. This is a young, international team with extraordinary dedication, maturity, and resilience. They’ve grown together, supported one another, and represented St Leonards with excellence both on and off the course.”

St Leonards School, located in St Andrews, the historic home of golf, offers one of the most comprehensive golf programmes in the UK, combining academic excellence with elite sports training. Pupils benefit from world-class coaching, year-round practice, and access to the legendary St Andrews Links courses.
This national victory marks a major milestone for the school’s golf programme and further strengthens its position as a leader in youth golf development.
St Leonards is a leading boarding and day school in St Andrews, Scotland, following the International Baccalaureate curriculum, from age 4 to 18. Pupils follow the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in Kindergarten to Year 6, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Years 7-9, and either the Career-related Programme (CP) or Diploma Programme (DP) in the Sixth Form. In Years 10 and 11, pupils study GCSE and IGCSE courses. In 2022, St Leonards was named the UK’s Independent School of the Year for International Experience.
