As the academic year draws to a close, St Mary’s Music School is preparing for a vibrant season of concerts, showcasing the dedication, creativity, and musicianship of its pupils. With three major performances , this summer promises something special for audiences and young musicians alike.



Summer Concert


St Mary's Music School: Summer Concert 2025

The annual Summer Concert is a much-anticipated event in the school calendar, bringing together the full breadth of the school’s musical ensembles in a joyful celebration of the year’s achievements. This year’s concert will feature music by Haydn, Satie, Bridge and Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor by Saint- Saëns.


Audiences can expect a carefully curated programme, performed in a professional setting by pupils ranging in age from 9 to 19. The Summer Concert is an opportunity not only to enjoy the high standard of musicianship that St Mary’s Music School is known for, but also to celebrate the accomplishments of pupils across the School.




Vocal Scenes


St Mary's Music School: A Summer of Concerts

The first public performance by the School’s Vocal Programme pupils, this concert brings together opera and operetta excerpts, giving singers a platform to display their technical skill and theatrical flair.


This year's performances promise a wide range of repertoire, offering audiences an intimate and varied evening of vocal performance.

Directors’ Recital Prize Final


One of the highlights of the St Mary’s Music School year is the Directors’ Recital Prize Final, now in its 25th year. Taking place in the stunning setting of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, this prestigious competition sees four senior pupils (S5 and above) perform a solo recital in front of a public audience and expert adjudicators.


Each finalist has earned their place through exceptional performance and artistic development, and the evening offers a rich and inspiring programme of solo repertoire. The prize, awarded by the School’s Directors, recognises both musical excellence and the personal growth of the performers.
