The Creative Puppetry for French toolkit is an inclusive and play-based resource designed by Tania, teaching artist and director of Le Petit Monde Stories. Rooted in the Creative Puppetry for Languages approach Tania developed over 25 years of experience and research, the toolkit can help children of all abilities build up self-confidence, awareness of cultural diversity - along with a basic and sound knowledge of French - while enriching educators’ practice.
Based on Tania’s own bilingual, accessible stories, puppet making and play, the approach allows for the teaching and learning of French as a Modern Language to take place in an emotionally safe environment and become more:
• Child-led
• Inclusive
• Play-based
• Cross-curricular.
It can also support children's well-being and help them develop:
• Ownership of their learning
• Self-confidence
• Resilience skills
The toolkit is suitable for educators of 3 to 8 years old but also parents keen to support their children to learn French through play.
Le Petit Monde Stories is a not-for-profit organisation and all profits from sales go towards delivering Creative Puppetry for English programmes for refugee children.

Some of the primary teachers’ testimonials…
‘It has changed the way I will deliver French!’
‘We have some children who are very shy. The progression that this group of children made was incredible. By the end of the project, they wanted to perform the story in front of their friends, which is such a big step for them.’
