Edinburgh Relocation Consultants specialise in all aspects of coordinating house moves. Founded by Caroline Lindsay, it evolved as she helped her mother move from their family home of 45 years. By word of mouth her reputation has grown as a trusted and experienced pair of hands.

Caroline has been married to a soldier for 26 years and in that period has moved 17 times - each house has been a different size, shape and design. This transient and challenging lifestyle has however resulted in her becoming an expert at adapting to new situations and re-establishing the essence of their home and home life in a new location and environment.

‘I have experienced the stress of moving at short notice and having to find schools and nurseries, moving countries at a time of bereavement, moving from a safe and happy environment to an unknown area, moving whilst pregnant, moving during Covid…the list goes on!’

Caroline’s own children attended various UK state schools before boarding at Fettes Prep and Senior School. With a background as a former Montessori Teacher, Nursery Manager and Primary Teacher, she brings a knowledge of Edinburgh’s educational and community offerings, not only from formal school visits but also from hands-on experience.

“We are finally and permanently back in Edinburgh and l love the diversity and opportunities this brings. It is because of the life we have led, that I have the expertise not only to both assist and reassure others who are looking to move home, but also the local knowledge to help them find their feet and enjoy this wonderful city.

Moving home is often combined with some of life’s greatest challenges – growing family, new job, divorce or bereavement. It can be a hugely stressful time; emotionally, physically and practically. My aim is to help each individual or family during this period. This could be decluttering and downsizing, working through storage/removal/auction and sale options, organising school visits and a chance to speak to current parents, or passing on trusted trade and local knowledge.’
